Random Writing: But the kiss...

He glared at her with a viciousness that hurt her down to her soul.
"Of course I don't love you." His mouth twitched around the syllables, each letter a snarl curling his lip.
She shook her head. It couldn't be. "But the kiss..." Her voice broke before she could finish the thought out loud.
The darkening of his eyes told her he understood what she had meant. He closed the space between them, his hollow chuckle brushing warm against her face.
"That kiss was nothing. If I really loved you, I would have kissed you like this."
His mouth molded over hers, trapping in the sobs and curses she wanted to scream. His lips were firm and desperate, coaxing her own mouth open to welcome his whims.
Tears leaked from her eyes as her fingers clenched around fistfuls of his shirt, and every fiber of her being was shot with agonizing fear.
His teeth sank into lower lip, and then his tongue explored beyond her teeth and suddenly she couldn't think anymore.
The faintest whimper constricted her throat and in a broken heartbeat he was gone, retreated out of reach.
He was out of breath, but still managed to maintain his aura of hostility. "Don't make the mistake of counting on my caring ever again. I don't love you."
She wanted to collapse into a heap and cry. Her body was betraying her with a sudden onset of weakness and shivers, pain and dizziness.
But her pride forced her chin up, even as the tears continued to stream down her face.
"You're an idiot if you think I'll give up now. If the first kiss didn't prove how you felt, the second one definitely did." False bravado poured iron into her veins as she crossed her arms; the picture of stubborn sass. "You love me, and I'm going to prove it. And when I do, you'll beg for my forgiveness."
